El Dia de la Restauracion (The Day Of Restoration)

Hace un siglo, el mundo lucía muy distinto a como luce hoy. El día de restauración, es una novela histórica corta sobre Jimmy Yen y su ministerio en China a principios del siglo XX. Jimmy Yen fue un joven evangélico chino que respondió no sólo con la transmisión del mensaje de Jesús sino viviéndolo en un esfuerzo colosal por educar a su pueblo y mejorar su economía agrícola. Todo esto en un mundo en el que China estaba desgarrada por una terrible guerra civil y las fuerzas del imperio japonés la atacaban varios años después del suceso de Pearl Harbor. La verdadera historia de Jimmy Yen es una prueba de que es posible creer en Jesús y seguir sus enseñanzas incluso en los momentos más aterradores, desde la revolución china y la Segunda Guerra Mundial hasta las armas atómicas y la Guerra Fría.


A century ago, the world looked very different than it does today.  The great colonial empires continued to spread over the five continents, billions of people lived in ignorance and poverty and even gigantic political structures such as the Chinese empire were tottering. What could the inhabitants of the planet do in the face of devastating forces such as imperialism, fascism or communism?  What hope was left for the backward nations that were victims of aggression? And, in a very special way, was there a Christian answer to such pressing and distressing questions?

The Day of Restorationis a short historical novel about Jimmy Yen and his ministry in China in the early 20th century. Jimmy Yen was a young Chinese evangelical who responded not only by transmitting the message of Jesus but by living it in a colossal effort to educate his people and improve their agricultural economy.  All this in a world in which China was torn apart by a terrible civil war and the forces of the Japanese empire were attacking it several years after the Pearl Harbor event. Jimmy Yen's true story is proof that it is possible to believe in Jesus and follow his teachings even in the most terrifying times, from the Chinese revolution and World War II to the atomic weapon and the Cold War.
