Doorway to His Presence

What if prayer could become more than a recited habit, a church ritual, or a last resort in moments of need?

In this 31-day devotional companion to Andrew Murray’s beloved classic With Christ in the School of Prayer, Rob Suggs invites readers to rediscover prayer as the doorway into God’s presence, power, and love. Drawing from Murray’s timeless teaching, each daily reading opens with a key passage from Scripture and a selection from Murray, followed by a fresh devotional reflection and prayer.

With warmth, clarity, and pastoral insight, Suggs guides readers through the central lessons Jesus taught about prayer: childlike trust in the Father, the need for secret prayer, the power of asking in faith, the work of the Holy Spirit, the calling to intercession, and the joy of abiding in Christ. Prayer is not presented as a burden or performance, but as an adventure with God—one that forms faith, deepens obedience, awakens compassion, and prepares believers to participate in His work in the world.

For longtime readers of Andrew Murray, this devotional offers a renewed way to engage his classic message. For new readers, it provides an accessible, monthlong path into one of the richest Christian teachings on prayer ever written.
